The Children Schools and Families Bill will reach the House of Lords around Wednesday February 24th with Second Reading in the week commencing Monday March 8th. After Second Reading the Bill moves to Committee stage where amendments will be discussed. Any member of the House of Lords can speak at Committee stage on the measures contained in the Bill. Debate on Clause 26, the home education clause of the Children Schools and Families Bill, took a substantial part of the final Committee session with the Labour Chair unable or unwilling to advance the committee towards scrutiny of the remaining clauses of the Bill.
